Crafted by Vietnamese studio ONDI, this puzzle-flavoured role-playing game is all about cramming as many items as you can into your limited inventory space. Sounds strange? Strap in – it gets better!
Keep sorted and carry on
Organisation is everything here. Arrange all your equipment on a grid inside your backpack, and they’ll magically float around your hero and go into attack mode automatically – so you’re literally packing your own punch.
Every piece of gear has a different shape, so you’ll need to figure out how to rotate and place everything so that your best picks all fit snugly. You can also spend gold to expand your backpack grid, creating more space for the hundreds of types of modifiable equipment.
Once you’ve got your loadout sorted, it’s time to explore Backpack Legends’ monsters, secrets and loot. Is that a mine entrance? Fight monsters to get minerals that can be smelted in town. An enchanted fiery portal? It can lead to a lava dungeon where a powerful boss awaits. And the most valuable rewards can be the villagers you rescue along the way – talk about human resources.
Home is where haul is
Once you’re back in town, you can spend your loot to build infrastructure, improve buildings and put villagers to work. Excavation Hub generates minerals, then Smelting Forge converts them into seals and sigils for gear upgrades. Assign rescued villagers to those buildings to dramatically increase their output.
Other notable structures include the Bastion which gives you the option to switch between different heroes, and the Armory where you can scrap unwanted gear to reclaim resources. Every time you’re in town, there’s something to add to your bag of tricks.
