There is no reason why our install procedure should not work with an intel version. just have tried the steps on it yet. We spentmany hours debugging the error messages and finding the correct path to fixing them one step at a time. We now have a install procedure that will go through a few steps. It will fail in expected areas, but if follow the steps you will have a working Generative AI app. We hope to have a guide avail this month or early May 2026. It will require a small donation. There is a set of files that are need for the repositories. It is a major requirement to complete the install. We will have it available or you can use your own source. We will have to decode it first to make sure there isn't any host specific information in the files. |

We do have this installed on M4 Series for some time. So yes SD works with Apple's M4.
Here is comment we added to issues area, but may be relevant here.
So claims a ComfyUI version is better, but we found that not to be the case. 1.10.1 was the last release. So there are some modification required now to install it because of both github authenication and legacy repositories not available. Why we look at this and continue to love it even if older. Local Tool, unlimited generations, uncensored version.
Why we also started to look at update and installing. Using Apple M4. Yes west still have intel with eGPU but M4 and MX series in general use cpu+gpu Apple designed apps. But even then those are often slower.
Our lasted venture was trying the new M4 drivers for eGPU for compute only, no success geting this to work with it. So the app runs using Metal. Slower, but we continue to tweak to get better performances on heavy generations complex settings.
Will we rewrite some code, not sure yet.But we also would like the design team to continue to work it. Even with many cloud base Generative AI sites, we still think this is top on our tool list. Not a fan of ComfyUI.
We run OS X 15 M4(intel we have slight different vesions)
version: v1.10.1 • python: 3.10.20 • torch: 2.3.1 • xformers: N/A • gradio: 3.41.2 • checkpoint: fdbe56354b
Python 3.14 is out. In the past we have tried newer version of Python with mixed results on intel, but have yet to return to tyring new version, but recall M4 series we did get an update working, but for now keeping 3.10.x version in production.
