I don't think a project like this deserves to be abandoned. Just for the fact that it's fascinating or experimental or ideal, it has an interest. I have some time on the side for the project, and I know a little about Node.js and low-level stuff. If anyone can accept PRs, I'll open them here, otherwise, I'll clone it and present my ideas here to all those who have come across this and wanted to give their share to revive the project without success.
