yeah pretty much exactly that. Itâs custom built 100% by our team with no external tools or anything (just a way to notify us using apis). itâs technically a separate running code since we canât hook it into the base lemmy code that easily but acts the same way

Fair enough. Could you edit your crossposts to the new version of the post that has some clarifications just so thereâs no misscommunication about this anywhere (you could put the original under a lemmy spoiler block which turns it into a dropdown for people that want to see original wording, details on how to do that here https://join-lemmy.org/docs/users/02-media.html. Or some other way you want)
Theres no LLM involved. This version of the post doesnt have the tldr to clarify some things so ill just repost my comment here
- Were not sending data to an LLM but the method is hidden so bad actors cant bypass it (you can disagree on that but the main issue is bots that are able to check blacklisted content and then just edit messages slightly to bypass it)
- The things that are checked are public (posts, comments, and dms that are also sent to other servers we dont control) and can be moderated on regardless of this. There isnt anything that breaches privacy
- Worst thing it can automatically do is temporarily remove a post/comment until an admin can approve or deny it just so its not there for people to run into (for example if someone spams slurs at someone else the someone else doesnt see that instead of it being there until an admin is able to come online)
For context this is for programming.dev specifially and affects our users rather than something on any fediverse software (figured I would mention that since it was cross posted into the main fediverse com with no context)
Reposting my answer to a comment on the main p.d post just so theres no confusion on this

for a couple of those

The way its being moderated isnt disclosed so that people cant just bypass it. The processing is local though like said in the original message (so for example were not sending this to some LLM/Ai to then use)
Everything is sent for human review so false positives can be reversed quickly and the worst action that happens is removal of content temporarily (before thats reversed)
This just means someone cant spin up a new account and spam things on the site or on federated sites and have that linger until its able to be moderated
If youre willing to send me the csv Iâm interested in seeing the results with a more eurovision style scoring rather than just average rank

Showerthoughts@lemmy.worldâ¢A lot of people are drinking or showering in very tiny ppm of Marilyn Monroe's piss everyday
1·2 months agocomment was restored instantly since it shouldnât have hit that message (ill probably try to get piss removed from the check). Just a way for admins to be able to check messages to prevent new accounts from instantly harassing people after sign up

Linuxâ¢Linux is actually very vulnerable to exploits and it's showing with high value vulnerabilities that has been dropping in the latest years; FreeBSD is way better in security record
3·2 months agoif you mention a lemmy community in your post the post gets sent to show up in the lemmy community. Comments are automatically federated if you comment on a lemmy post.
lemmy posts are all federated to mastodon though if the servers know about each other
im saying the posts and content are fine, just dont swamp every other type of content with it. Give breathing room for other communities and other people in this community to be able to have things surface. You can still post things hence why you havent gotten any moderation action here past getting your flood of posts removed.
some users can like attribution to reddit a lot of others dont. Not everyone has the same opinion or is the same person
yeah but ideally it wouldnt be. People come here to escape reddit they dont want to be reminded of it. Just warning that if you post with it youre going to get a lot more complaint comments
4 posts were still left up from your batch after I cleaned up some to clean the home instance feeds and them the mods trimmed it down more (from 19 within the same small window of time). Just make sure to spread posts out so theyre not all posted in a chunk (and dont use camelcase for titles or have connections to reddit). This post is more than a day after the other ones so would be fine
the one by Angine de Poitrine (Fabienk)
Yeah any playlists on platforms are unfortunately going to be missing the p.d entry since it was made for a game jam and doesnât exist outside of it atm due to the composer not being well known
Youtube I think is the only thing that has 12/13 of the entries (apart from the âplaylistâ just being links to things like mine is in the post)

Lemmyvision@jlai.luâ¢Submission for Lemmyvision, from Lovecraft Mythos - ROB ZOMBIE - (I'm a) Rock "N" Roller
2·2 months agoDoes that connect to Lovecraft Mythos? (Also did you run a vote for the submission? since I donât see that in the submission post). Not that knowledgeable with heavy metal things
that still automatically pulls the content even if its manually reviewed which makes it go out much faster than any people manually making memes would be able to post at
just space things out so youre not doing more than a couple a day here and dont just copy titles and stuff 1 for 1
Just a measure to make sure this stays a human zone and not bots spamming everyones post feeds for all the different communities without any sort of curation

I do think having options like letting people disable dms, letting people choose to need to approve dms to get notifications about them and then having a whitelist makes sense. I can make tickets for those in the lemmy repo later if they donât exist already
